Meet the Back9 Monsters
Originally from a world where the entire land is a golf course, the Back9 know just how to trip up any golfer. Each embodying the worst habits and challenges you’ll find on the course, every monster is particular about how they’ll challenge you.
Duff
Duff is an overbearing and bossy monster. His “advice” about how to hit the ball is more likely to make you hit the grass, completely missing or barely hitting the ball. You’ll find Duff following you and your ball as you travel the course.
OB
OB is a mischievous and cunning monster. She’ll lie to you about where the hole is just to have you hit it out of bounds! Don’t follow her lead and stick to the green. You can find OB trying to change out the signs along the path.
Bunker
Bunker is a silly one. He doesn’t take the game seriously at all and would rather have fun playing around in the sand traps. In fact, he’ll try to get you in on it too and make you hit your ball into the sand. Of course, you’ll find Bunker playing in the grass and sand.
Yips
Yips is an anxious critter. She lacks the confidence her fellow monsters have, but that doesn’t mean she isn’t trouble! Yips will tell all sorts of anxious lies to mess with you. But don’t let her pessimism get to you, be strong and confident in your swing! You’ll find her trying to hide around the tee box.
Bogey
Bogey is an obnoxious monster. This inconsiderate pest will try and make fun of you for being one over par. It’s best to just ignore him and focus on improving. You can find him near the hole, trying to goad golfers into making a bad shot.
Hook & Slice
Hook and Slice are twin troublemakers. Quarrelsome and disagreeable, these unsportsmanlike golfing fiends will try to influence your grip and timing to cause your ball to fly in the completely opposite direction that you want. These two can be found bickering with each other at the tee.
Buzzard
Buzzard is the wildest of the bunch. Much like Bogey, his rudeness will come out in full if you’re two over par. His abrasive nature is sure to wear on your nerves, making it difficult to focus on the game or your swing. You can find him kicking up grass by the hole.
Whiff
Whiff is one sarcastic monster. Her sardonic chatter will distract you so much you’ll miss the ball entirely! Best to block her out and try again. Don’t let her cynical remarks get you down! Whiff can be found watching and lounging on an empty golf cart while golfers set up their shot.
